ORLANDO, Fla. (July 4, 2017) – Acclaimed PGA professional John Richman, a two-time Midwest PGA Section Teacher of the Year (2004, 2007), is scheduled to appear as a guest instructor on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive on Wednesday, July 5 and Saturday, July 8.
The popular daily morning show airs from 7-9 a.m. ET on July 5 and 6-7:30 a.m. ET on July 8.
Richman, co-owner and lead instructor at the Martin City Golf Center in Kansas City, Mo., is one of the inaugural coaches in Golf Channel Academy (GCA), a dedicated network of teaching facilities. Select Golf Channel Academy coaches are being invited to appear on the network’s news and instruction shows, including The Golf Fix and School of Golf; Richman is making his first appearance on Morning Drive.
“I’m looking forward to sharing some of my favorite lessons and tips with the viewers of Morning Drive,” said Richman, who was also past president of the Midwest Section and was named its Golf Professional of the Year in 2011. “It’s been a great experience to be a part of the Golf Channel Academy network of coaches, and something I’m very proud to be associated with.”
An accomplished player, John continues to compete regularly in the Midwest Section and won the prestigious Midwest PGA Championship in 2007-an event also captured by two-time PGA Tour winner Tom Pernice, Jr., former New York Yankees pitcher Ralph Terry, and PGA of America Hall of Famer Stan Thirsk (Tom Watson’s former coach and mentor). John was also a walk-on safety on the University of Nebraska football team and played on the 1987 squad that won 10 games and finished the season ranked 6th in the country.
One of Golf Range Magazine’s Top 50 Golf Instructors in America, John’s strength lies in his ability to communicate and relate the golf swing in a way that his students can understand. John is very forward thinking and uses the most advanced technology available on the market today to help golfers realize their full golfing potential.
