BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Aerotech Golf, maker of the No. 1 graphite iron shafts in golf, collected more Top Fives this past weekend at a major event. SteelFiber i110 graphite iron shafts scored third-place and T4 finishes at the U.S. Senior Open, the fourth major of the season on the Champions Tour.
One week after his victory at the American Family Insurance Championship, the former World No. 1 player with wins at the 1992 Masters Tournament and the 1984 and 1996 Players Championship played SteelFiber i110 graphite iron shafts to garner a T4 finish at the U.S. Senior Open. Meanwhile, last month’s winner of the Principal Charity Classic played a SteelFiber i110 in his driving iron for a solo third-place finish.
“Last year, SteelFiber graphite iron shafts delivered a record-breaking number of tour wins and Top 10 finishes. We’re seeing that same trend continue this year as more and more pros are seeing firsthand the performance benefits of SteelFiber,” says Chris Hilleary, president of Aerotech Golf. “SteelFiber shafts incorporate high-modulus graphite and micro-thin steel fibers, a combination that allow players to increase yardage, reduce fatigue, and still maintain the stability and accuracy normally associated with steel shafts. It’s tour proven – SteelFiber’s innovative technology is a game-changer.”
SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. The shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, while the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.
During the 2016 season, SteelFiber shafts delivered 20 wins on pro tours around the world as well as won the coveted CME Race for the Globe Trophy and 2016 Money Title on the LPGA Tour. Players with SteelFiber shafts routinely rank high on the PGA Money List, Official World Golf Rankings and the FedEx Cup Season Points. In 2013, for example, SteelFiber players ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in the FedEx Cup Season Points and ended overall as No. 3 and No. 5 on the PGA Money List. SteelFiber shafts won the highly prized FedEx Cup in 2012.
