The South Florida PGA announces Samuel Dalton as the 2017 South Florida PGA Professional Golf Management Scholarship recipient. This scholarship was created in 2007 to provide financial assistance to exemplary students enrolled in this South Florida based PGA Golf Management program at Florida Gulf Coast University.
Samuel has worked several internships in the golf industry over the past few years. The summer following his freshman year, he worked at Overbrook Golf Club in Villanova, PA. His time was split between outside operations and the golf shop. Currently, he works for Golf Life Navigators in Naples under the supervision of PGA Life Member and Past President of the SFPGA, Lynn Josephson.
Samuel became passionate about the game when he began to caddie in high school. He has dreams of one day owning his own golf course (or courses), as he is also studying Real Estate at FGCU. He is passionate about growing the game and believes that through his education at FGCU he can make a difference while building a nice life for himself.
Lynn Josephson, PGA Life Member and Past President said this about Samuel, “I am a strong supporter of Sam’s. He’s just one of those guys you want to help and see succeed. Just spending a little time and being around him, it doesn’t take long to sum him up. He is extremely professional, courteous and on top of things.”
We here at the South Florida PGA know Samuel will be successful with his future endeavors and we can’t wait to see what he accomplishes.
