STREAMSONG, FLORIDA (July 14, 2017) – Streamsong Resort®, an award-winning luxury golf resort in central Florida, has announced two promotions among its professional golf staff to position the team for the opening of Streamsong Black. Chad Helms, a PGA member since 2010, has assumed the role of head golf professional of Streamsong’s two award winning courses, Streamsong Red® and Streamsong Blue®. Additionally, PGA member Matt Jordan has been promoted to head golf professional of Streamsong Black®, the resort’s third course that will open in September.
“As we prepare to expand our golf offering at Streamsong Resort, we are pleased to promote Chad and Matt to lead our daily golf operations,” said Scott Wilson, director of golf. “They have proven leadership skills and are committed to enhancing the exceptional guest service that the resort is known for when Streamsong Black opens this fall.”
Helms and Jordan have been an instrumental part of the resort’s golf staff since Streamsong’s opening in December 2012. Helms boasts more than 25 years’ experience in the golf industry, having served as a head golf professional at Cheval Golf & Country Club (Florida) and Canongate Golf (Colorado), and an assistant professional at The Broadmoor Golf Club (Colorado), before coming to Streamsong.
Jordan, a PGA member since 2003, has held management roles in the golf industry for more than 12 years. His past experience includes leadership positions at Walt Disney World Golf (Florida) and Blue Heron Golf Club (Ohio).
Streamsong Black, designed by 2016 Olympic golf course architect Gil Hanse, will open to the public on Sept. 29. The new course will introduce expanded practice facilities to the resort, with the addition of a large range, a 2-acre putting green (The Gauntlet), and an extensive practice area (The Roundabout) that will include a variety of short holes for a customizable golf experience with shorter loops and modified layouts.
The third course will complement the resort’s existing two courses, which are ranked among GOLF Magazine’s Top 100 Courses You Can Play and Golf Digest’s 100 Greatest Public Courses.
With the addition of Streamsong Black, the resort will be the only location in the world where players can enjoy three distinct courses designed by four legendary architects – Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, Tom Doak, and Gil Hanse.
