ORLANDO, Fla. (July 24, 2017) – Accomplished player and coach Mike Malizia, one of Golf Digest’s “Best Teachers in Your State” (2013-’14), is scheduled this week to appear as a guest instructor on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive, July 26 and 29.
The popular daily morning show will air from 7-9 a.m. ET on Wednesday, and 7-9:30 a.m. ET on Saturday.
Malizia, who operates the Mike Malizia Golf Academy and serves as Director of Instruction at Harbour Ridge Yacht & Country Club in Palm City, Fla., is one of the inaugural coaches in Golf Channel Academy (GCA), a dedicated network of teaching facilities. Select Golf Channel Academy coaches are being invited to appear on the network’s news and instruction shows, including The Golf Fix and School of Golf; Malizia is making his first appearance on Morning Drive.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to be on Morning Drive,” said Malizia, whose students include PGA Tour player Derek Fathauer and Web.com Tour players Hugo and Horacio Leon and Josh Hart. “It’s been a great experience to be a part of the Golf Channel Academy network of coaches and I look forward to sharing some of my best lessons and playing strategies with the viewers at home.”
Malizia has been teaching golf for more than 15 years. Prior to joining the coaching ranks, he played professionally on the PGA Tour and Nike Tour, and also competed in the 2000 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach.
As recently as 2015, Malizia’s academy was voted one of GolfCourseHome® Network’s “Top 10 Best Communities for Great Golf Instruction.” A Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Level 2 Golf Instructor, Malizia also holds certifications with Elite Golf Performance (Certified Coach), Golf Biomechanics (Certified Coach) and BioSwing Dynamics (Master Instructor).
