Located 35 miles outside of Washington D.C., the award-winning Norman Course at Lansdowne is an original GNGCD design that opened in 2005. As part of the renovation, the bunkers were regraded, reshaped and rebuilt incorporating a technically advanced drainage and liner system by Capillary Concrete. This new generation lining method increases the speed at which water flows through the sand and the lining; minimizing contamination, reducing maintenance and producing consistency.
Chris Campbell, who originally directed the construction of the Norman Course, alongside Jeff Danner, oversaw the project. These enhancements were the first to the acclaimed course since it debuted 12 years ago.
