BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Aerotech Golf, maker of the No. 1 graphite iron shafts in golf, took home more Top 10s this past weekend on two pro tours. SteelFiber graphite iron shafts scored a T3 finish at the Senior Open Championship, the fifth and final major of the season on the Champions Tour, as well as a T8 at the Ladies Scottish Open on the LPGA Tour.
The former World No. 1 player with wins at the 1992 Masters Tournament and the 1984 and 1996 Players Championship played SteelFiber i110 graphite iron shafts at the Senior Open Championship and finished strong in the final two rounds to capture a share of third-place. He is currently fourth on the Charles Schwab Cup Money List. On the LPGA Tour, the two-year pro from New Zealand, currently ranked 12th on CME, collected her 22nd career Top 10 with a solo eighth-place finish at the Ladies Scottish Open.
“We’re excited to see the growing popularity of SteelFiber graphite iron shafts on all the pro tours,” says Chris Hilleary, president of Aerotech Golf. “SteelFiber shafts out-perform traditional steel shaft designs in a great many ways. Not only do SteelFiber shafts reduce vibration, reduce player fatigue and increase clubhead speed but they also simultaneously maintain the consistency, solid feel and stability which most players attribute to steel shafts.”
SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. The shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, while the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.
Last year, SteelFiber shafts delivered 20 wins on pro tours around the world as well as won the coveted CME Race for the Globe Trophy and 2016 Money Title on the LPGA Tour. Players with SteelFiber shafts routinely rank high on the PGA Money List, Official World Golf Rankings and the FedEx Cup Season Points. In 2013, for example, SteelFiber players ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in the FedEx Cup Season Points and ended overall as No. 3 and No. 5 on the PGA Money List. SteelFiber shafts won the highly prized FedEx Cup in 2012.
