Sarasota, FL. – TPC Prestancia, a Heritage Golf Group owned and operated club, is proud to announce that the club will host the Drive, Chip & Putt Championship sub-regional on Saturday, August 19, 2017. The USGA, Masters Tournament and the PGA of America officially launched the 2018 Drive, Chip and Putt Championship by announcing the local qualifying schedule for the program’s fifth year and TPC Prestancia will be one of 53 sub-regional host sites spread throughout 31 states.
The top three juniors in their age division at Local Qualifiers (Stoneybrook GC of Estero, Bobby Jones GC, The Meadows CC & Tampa Bay Downs) will gather to compete in the Sub-Regional at TPC Prestancia. Only the top two juniors from each age/gender category will advance from TPC Prestancia to the Regional Qualifying event at TPC Sawgrass on Saturday, September 16th with a chance to head to the National Finals at Augusta National on Sunday, April 1, the eve of the 2018 Masters.

The Drive, Chip and Putt Championship (www.drivechipandputt.com) is a joint initiative founded in 2013 by the Masters Tournament, United States Golf Association and The PGA of America, the Drive, Chip and Putt Championship is a free nationwide junior golf development competition aimed at growing the game by focusing on the three fundamental skills employed in golf.
By tapping the creative and competitive spirit of girls and boys ages 7-15, the Drive, Chip and Putt Championship provides aspiring junior golfers an opportunity to play with their peers in qualifiers around the country. Participants who advance through local, sub-regional and regional qualifying in each age/gender category earn a place in the National Finals, which is conducted at Augusta National Golf Club the Sunday before the Masters Tournament and is broadcast live by Golf Channel.
