Nippon Shaft Wins Women's British

Records 3 top 5s at WGC, two runner ups at Barracuda


CARLSBAD, Calif. (August 7, 2017) – The winner of the Women’s British Open used Nippon Shaft’s classic 950GH steel shafts in her irons Sunday (August 6) to help her shoot 18-under par at Kingsbarns Golf Links in St. Andrews, Scotland and win her first major championship.
The 28-year-old Korean shot round of 65-68-66-71 for a total of 270 for a two-shot victory and a winner’s check of $504,821. It was her third LPGA victory this year and her seventh career victory.
Meanwhile, on the PGA TOUR, three players, each using different Nippon Shaft products, finished in the top five at the prestigious WGC Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio.
The 40-year-old San Diego native and UNLV product used the N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 105 X-flex steel shafts in his irons to finish solo third at 10-under par. Finishing T-5 at 7-under were the 40-year-old native Englishman, who used N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 120 TX-flex steel shafts in his irons, and the 32-year-old Scotsman, who utilized N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 125 S-flex steel shafts in his irons and wedges.
At the PGA TOUR’s Barracuda Championship, two players using N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 105 X-flex steel shafts in their irons finished runner up in a sudden death playoff at the Montreux Golf & Country Club in Reno, Nevada.
