Sarah Weyand has been named the 2017 Bobby Goodman Scholarship recipient. The Bobby Goodman Scholarship is a $2,500 grant annually given to a high school senior or college student entering into his/her freshman or sophomore year of undergraduate studies whose parents or grandparents either work in or are retired from the golf industry. The scholarship is named after PGA Professional Bobby Goodman, who is recognized for his numerous contributions to the game of golf at all levels.

Sarah’s father, Kenneth Weyand is the PGA Director of Golf at John’s Island Club in Vero Beach, Florida.

A graduate from Vero Beach High School, Sarah has flawlessly balanced countless volunteer hours tutoring young children, academics and athletics. She is ranked first in her class receiving the highest honor of class Valedictorian. With a perfect score on the ACT, Sarah was honored with the Presidential Scholars Program nomination. She’s been recognized as a National Merit Finalist and a recipient of the Wellesley Book Award. Sarah’s accomplishments continue to impress and speak volumes about the dedication and commitment she embodies. She was also a member of the Girls High School Varsity Soccer Team throughout her high school career.

Marty Bauer, PGA Director of Golf at Glenwild Golf Club describes Sarah as “having a drive and work ethic in the classroom that is to be envied by all…outside the classroom, Sarah mirrors her success, passion, and determination in her extracurricular activities.” He also said, “she is a caring older sister, a loving daughter and possess a spirit that will give anyone hope for the future.”

This fall, Sarah will attend Georgia Institute of Technology and will pursue a degree in computer science. Congratulations to Sarah and we look forward to seeing what her future holds.
