ORLANDO, Fla. (Aug. 28, 2017) – Accomplished Las Vegas-area teaching professional Mike Davis, one of Golf Magazine’s “Top 100 Teachers in America” and one of only a few instructors in the PGA of America to earn status as both a Certified and Master Professional in golf instruction, will appear as a guest instructor on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive on Wednesday, Aug. 30, and Thursday, Aug. 31.
The popular daily morning show will air from 7:00-9:00 a.m. ET on both days.
Davis, Director of Instruction at DragonRidge Country Club in the Las Vegas suburb of Henderson, Nev., is one of the inaugural coaches in Golf Channel Academy (GCA), a dedicated network of teaching facilities. Select Golf Channel Academy coaches are being invited to appear on the network’s news and instruction shows, including The Golf Fix and School of Golf; Davis is making his second appearance on Morning Drive.
“It’s a tremendous honor to be on Morning Drive,” said Davis. “It’s been a great experience to be a part of the Golf Channel Academy network of coaches, and I look forward to sharing some of my favorite tips and playing lessons with the viewers at home.”
Davis is a nine-time Southern Nevada PGA Teacher of the Year and four-time Oregon PGA Teacher of the Year. He was twice named PGA Teacher of the Year for both the Pacific Northwest PGA Section and the Southwest PGA Section.
A teaching professional for more than 45 years, Davis was a board member and officer for the Southern Nevada PGA from 2001-2011, and has been a leader in developing programs benefiting juniors and golfers in the area. He also has been inducted into both the Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame and the Pacific Northwest Golf Association Hall of Fame, and is currently ranked second in Golf Digest’s “Best Teachers in Your State” rankings for Nevada.
An accomplished player, Davis was a full-time member of the PGA Tour in the mid-1970s, appearing in U.S. Open three times and once in the PGA Championship.
