(HILTON HEAD, S.C.) – The Sea Pines Resort – host of the PGA TOUR’s RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing held on its famed Harbour Town Golf Links – announces acclaimed teaching professional Dana Rader has joined the instruction team at its world-class Golf Learning Center.
In November, Rader was awarded a spot in the prestigious LPGA’s Teaching and Club Professional Hall of Fame (T&CP), and was formally inducted during last week’s Solheim Cup in Des Moines, Iowa. Established in 2000, it is the highest honor given to teaching and club professional members for extraordinary membership service and leadership while contributing to the game of golf and the golf industry.
GOLF Magazine added Rader to its Top 100 Teachers in America list in 1996, a title she still holds today. She was also named No. 3 in the U.S. in Golf Digest’s Top 50 Greatest Teachers in America list in 2003-2005 and 2008-Present. The Golf Channel Academy made her Lead Charter Coach. Rader was named LPGA T&CP National Teacher of the Year in 1990 and won the Ellen Griffin Rolex Award in 2015.
Rader has also established herself as an authority in the golf industry when she began to write for Golf for Women Magazine in the 1980s. Currently she is a contributing writer for GOLF Magazine, Golf Digest, Golf Tips Magazine, Sports Illustrated and the Charlotte Observer. She also wrote the book Rock Solid Golf: A Foundation for a Lifetime.
Beginning her tenure on Sept. 5, Rader will join the Golf Learning Center team led by Tim Cooke, the resort director of instruction and a recent honoree in GOLF Magazine’s list of “Top 100 Teachers in America” for 2017-2018. Rader will conduct a 3-day golf instruction school from Sept. 19 – 21 as well as ongoing private lessons throughout the month. She will additionally be offering both “women only” and coed instruction programs as well.
“We’re thrilled Dana is joining our state-of-the-art instruction team,” says Cary Corbitt, Vice President of Sports & Operations. “Her leadership, passion, and commitment to growing the game will further augment our standing as one of the premier golf destinations in the U.S.”
