(PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.) – PGA National Resort & Spa – home of the PGA TOUR’s Honda Classic and former Ryder Cup venue – announces it will host the National FootGolf Classic 2017 on its Fazio Course, Sept. 8 – 9.
Organized by the American FootGolf League (AFGL), the FootGolf Classic at PGA National will commence with shotgun starts the mornings of both Sept. 8 and 9. The event offers a cash purse of $12,500 with categories for men, women and seniors (46 and older). The tournament is also a stop on the sport’s World Tour and will offer 250 Federation for International FootGolf (FIFG) ranking points up for grabs to those participating.

Played on a traditional golf course, FootGolf involves kicking a soccer ball down the fairway of the course with the intention, like golf, of reaching the hole in as few “strokes” (kicks) as possible. In FootGolf, the hole is increased to 21-inches in diameter to accommodate a regulation soccer ball.
