Angels Camp, CA (September 7, 2017) – The 16th annual Rick Bergstrom Tent Classic is set to tee off at Greenhorn Creek Golf Resort, September 16, 2017. This marks the 13th consecutive year that California’s premier Gold Country golf resort will host the charity event played in the memory of Rick Bergstrom, a former pastor in the community, to raise funds for combating depression that affects 35% of the population.
“Rick was a real pillar in the community, as evident by the many friends who return every year to honor his legacy,” says Kasey Bergstrom Smith, Rick’s daughter. “Over the last 15 years, we have raised nearly $500,000, most of which has been donated to the UCSF Langley Porter to help research for clinical depression and have also provided funds for student scholarships and selected organizations such as Unity 4 Orphans and Vision Farm, a ministry to the people in Haiti.”
Registration for the event opens at 11:00 am, followed by lunch, and a 1:00 pm shotgun for the four-person scramble. Starting at 6:00 pm, dinner and a silent auction will round out the day. The entry fee is $175 per person ($40 for dinner only).
In addition, a drawing will be held to provide a lucky winner with a golf package to Sun Valley Resort in Idaho. The prize includes: two rooms/two nights; one round of golf for four; three-day car rental; and $500 cash. Tickets are $20 each, $50 for three or $100 for six. Need not be present to win.
