Four of six Nippon Shaft players finish in top 10 at East Lake
CARLSBAD, Calif. (September 25, 2017) – Four players out of the six players using Nippon Shaft products at the 30-player TOUR Championship finished in the top 10 Sunday (September 24) in the PGA TOUR’s season-finale at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.
Finishing T-3 was the 33-year-old Aiken, South Carolina native who played the Nippon Shaft N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 120 TX-flex steel shafts in his irons and the N.S.PRO MODUS3 Wedge 125 in his wedges to shoot a 10-under par total with rounds of 68-68-64-70-270. He earned $511,875 and finished 12th in the FedExCup race.
Finishing solo fifth was the 40-year-old native Englishman and Arizona resident who used Nippon Shaft N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 120 TX-flex steel shafts in his irons and N.S.PRO MODUS3 Tour 120 X flex in his wedges to shoot a 9-under par total with rounds of 66-67-65-73-271. He earned $350,000 and finished 11th in the FedExCup race.
In a three-way tie for seventh was the 28-year-old Utah native who used Nippon Shaft N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 120 TX-flex steel shafts in his irons and N.S.PRO MODUS3 Wedge 125 in his wedges to shoot an 7-under par total with rounds of 68-71-68-66-273. He earned $280,000 and finished 19th in the FedExCup race.
In a three-way tie for 10th was the reigning Masters champion who played the Nippon Shaft N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 130 X-flex steel shafts in his irons and wedges to record a 6-under par total of 274 with rounds of 73-66-68-67. He earned $236,250 and finished 21st in the FedExCup standings.
Last week at the BMW Championship, a Nippon Shaft player notched a five-shot, wire-to-wire victory at Conway Farms outside Chicago. He played the Nippon Shaft N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 130 X-flex steel shafts in his irons and wedges to make it Nippon Shaft’s seventh PGA TOUR victory of the 2016-17 season.
