World Travel Awards, Travel Weekly Magellan Awards single out resort with prestigious honors

The resort earned “Mexico & Central America’s Leading Resort for 2017” from the World Travel Awards, which for the past 24 years has acknowledged, rewarded and celebrated excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry. Villa del Palmar bested stiff competition including Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo, Costa Rica; Las Ventanas al Paraiso, A Rosewood Resort, Cabo San Lucas,
Mexico, and NIZUC Resort & Spa, Cancun, Mexico all recognizable top 5-star resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean.
This is the third consecutive year Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto was honored. In addition, Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto was nominated in two other categories: “Mexico’s Leading Beach Resort,” which it won in 2015 and 2016, as well as “Mexico’s Leading Family Resort” and “Mexico & Central America’s Leading Resort 2016.”
For 2017, Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto has recently been nominated in the category of World’s Leading Resort 2017. Voting for this award is open now through Monday, Oct. 30. Votes are cast by travel professionals and consumers, ensuring that only the most deserving businesses walk away with one of these prestigious accolades.
Building on the resort’s success and reputation, the Travel Weekly Magellan Awards also singled out the resort as part of its recently announced 2017 honors. Up against finalists from around the world, Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto earned silver honors in the category, “Hospitality – Overall Beach/Resort Hotel.” The Magellan Awards honor the best in travel, and Travel Weekly will feature all the winners in its October issue.
