Inaugural clubs to book more than 5,000 incremental rounds over six months
San Francisco, Calif., October 4, 2017… Find A Game®-the first suite of tools that enables golf courses to arrange games between like-minded golfers and fill openings on tee sheets-has rolled out its first Match Play Series. These fun, “casually competitive” tournaments were created to help daily-fee and corporately-owned private courses sell thousands of additional tee times.
Find A Game partners American Golf, Century Golf, Escalante Golf, the Alamo City Golf Trail, and the TPC Network are launching the specially designed Match Play Series tournaments at many of their properties. The first seven events-which conduct their opening rounds in October and are played in a variety of formats, for one player and two-person teams, at net and gross-will be contested one round a month over 6 months.
The opening series of matches will generate incremental sales of more than 5,000 tee times at the inaugural seven host courses.
Find A Game will manage the sign-ups and pairing brackets in a format exportable to Golf Genius, significantly reducing the work for each club’s professional staff. Competitors also can book their tee times through Find A Game.
Find A Game uses proprietary technology to match golfers by skill set (handicap) as well as frequency of play, age, their attitudes toward the game (“Are you more like Judge Smails or Al Czervik?”), and other elements that help find new playing partners. This technology also powers a unique tee-time-filling function called “RevPAR Booster” that lets courses send emails that alert golfers to available tee times and compatible pairings.
“As a software entrepreneur, I knew that automating the process of arranging a game and integrating it with electronic tee sheets would increase play and significantly impact a course’s profitability,” said Lee Blaylock, CEO of Find A Game, Inc. “Our Match Play Series does all that while adding the fun and competition of a tournament, but one that fits the golfers’ schedules, doesn’t tie up the course, and doesn’t give the pro shop extra work.”
Find A Game has signed agreements with hundreds of golf courses in the U.S. These include independent courses as well as those managed or owned by leading multi-course operators. Find A Game also recently entered into a unique partnership with EZLinks Golf LLC, a PGA TOUR-affiliated company, to sell tee times at its client courses.
“Century Golf is excited to be working with Find A Game to increase rounds and connect golfers with similar interests and playing styles,” said Jeff Whitt, Principal/SVP, Public & Resort Courses at Century Golf Partners. “We’re also happy to be among the first course operators to roll out the Match Play Series, bringing a unique tournament format to our loyal golfers. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
