ORLANDO, Fla. (Oct. 23, 2017) – Acclaimed PGA Golf Professional Virgil Herring, a five-time Middle Tennessee Chapter PGA Teacher of the Year and two-time Tennessee Section PGA Teacher of the Year, is scheduled to appear as a guest instructor on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive on Wednesday, Oct. 25, and Thursday, Oct. 26.
The popular daily morning show airs from 7-9 a.m. ET on Wednesday, and from 7-9:30 a.m. ET on Thursday.
Herring will be sharing several of his favorite youth golf tips as part of Junior Golf Week on Morning Drive. The Director of the Higher Performance Golf Academy in Nashville, Tenn., Herring is one of the inaugural coaches in Golf Channel Academy (GCA), a dedicated network of teaching facilities. Select Golf Channel Academy coaches are being invited to appear on the network’s news and instruction shows, including The Golf Fix and School of Golf; Herring is making his third appearance on Morning Drive.
“It’s a tremendous honor to be on Morning Drive once again,” said Herring, “especially on a week when the network is celebrating junior golf. I’ve spent the better part of two-plus decades developing some of the top junior golfers in the Nashville area, and I look forward to sharing some of that expertise with the viewers at home.”
A Futures Champion Golf (FCG) Top 25 Elite Junior Coach and former U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Kids Teacher, Herring has taught more than 150 NCAA scholarship recipients. His current and former students also include several PGA Tour and Web.com Tour players, including eight-time PGA Tour champion Brandt Snedeker.
Herring is also the host of “Talking Golf with Virgil Herring” on 104.5 The Zone in Nashville, and is author of The Golf Journal: Improving Your Game, a statistical-based journal that helps you identify where you are losing strokes on the course and then provides a game plan to get those strokes back.
