PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – (November 1, 2017) – Sebring’s Citrus Golf Trail is an affordable golf-rich area in South Central Florida that combines a relaxed lifestyle with quality golf. And there is the added allure of the Sebring International Raceway, home of the famed 12 Hours of Sebring auto endurance race.
All of this will be highlighted in the November episode of the award-winning Traveling Golfer television show. Show host Tony Leodora introduces the viewers to favorite attractions such as the Inn on the Lakes, Chicanes Restaurant and Cowpoke’s Watering Hole and the many fine golf courses such as the Donald Ross-designed Pinecrest Golf Club, the 36-hole facility at Sun ‘N Lake Golf Club, another 36-hole layout at Highlands Ridge Golf Club, Placid Lakes Golf Club and River Greens Golf Course.
“We are 60 minutes south of Orlando – very centrally located – but we are what Florida used to be,” explains Casey Wohl Hartt, marketing consultant for Visit Sebring, the area’s tourism development council. “There is a feeling that you are part of the community when you come here, because these places are so charming and the people are very hospitable. Sebring is off the beaten path – so different and unique – something that everyone should try.”
The Sebring area – including the quaint nearby towns of Avon Park and Lake Placid – is located in Highlands County, a predominantly agricultural area that includes some of the largest orange groves and cattle ranches in the state. As a result, a great steak or an orange-flavored desert are not hard to find.
“When we shot the show, it was my second visit to Sebring,” says Traveling Golfer host Tony Leodora. “Both times it was amazing to feel a sense of total relaxation take place shortly after arrival. The pace for golf is relaxed during the day … and the post-golf atmosphere is even more relaxed. This is the best recommendation for a trip to Florida that is different from the norm.”
The November episode runs throughout the month on the Traveling Golfer network of websites … including The Golf Director Network (see full list of sites on travelinggolfervideo.com). It also will air on Monday, November 13 as part of the Press Box television show in Myrtle Beach, 5 to 7 p.m. on HTC Ch. 4. The Traveling Golfer also airs as a scheduled weekly feature show on NBC Sports and NBC Sports + throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. NBC Sports airings are 10:30 a.m. Sundays and 4:30 p.m. Thursdays. NBC Sports + airs the show at 6 p.m. Mondays and Fridays.
As part of every Traveling Golfer show there is the additional feature, “Tech Talk”, hosted by Tour Edge Golf experts, such as President Dave Glod. With years of experience as a club maker, Glod presents an inside look at the research and development of high-quality golf equipment.
Responding to golfers’ never-ending demands to learn more about interesting golf courses and golf resorts across the country and around the world, well-traveled host Tony Leodora created the Traveling Golfer so he could take viewers on video trips to some of the most exciting golf locations. The show repeated for the second straight year as the No. 1 Golf Television Show in America in the prestigious International Network of Golf Awards, presented at the PGA Merchandise Show in January.
The Traveling Golfer is a series of monthly shows hosted by Leodora, who has 16 years of experience in televised golf. The featured destination stays on the website for one month, before being replaced by a new show. The old shows are archived for continued viewing on the YouTube Network and on the home website, www.travelinggolfervideo.com.
