Campaign designed to encourage golf play while raising funds for disaster relief
OAKLAND, Calif., – Nov. 1, 2017 – Mobile golf technology startup, 18Birdies, today announced its #Golf4Relief fundraising campaign designed to raise money for DirectRelief.org to assist with relief efforts around the country’s most recent natural disasters. The campaign will raise funds to help those affected by the recent events that have displaced so many from their homes and will let people participate by simply going out and playing golf.
18Birdies will donate $5 for every round that users score on the 18Birdies app from Nov. 10-12 to Direct Relief (https://www.directrelief.org/). Proceeds will go to relief efforts for Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria as well as the Napa/Sonoma Wildfires.
“The recent string of natural disasters has been devastating for our country,” said Susan Song, Chief Marketing Officer at 18Birdies. “The recent wildfires in Northern California have hit especially close to home as many of our staff have close, personal connections to those affected. We want to take this opportunity to rally the golf community together for the common good while benefitting the industry as a whole by encouraging golf play.”
Further information about the campaign and how to participate can be found at www.18Birdies.com/golf4relief.
