Longtime Vanderbilt Legends Club director of instruction also ranks as No. 40 teacher in America
FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Vanderbilt Legends Club is proud to announce Director of Instruction Joe Hallett has been named the Top Instructor in Tennessee, in a poll of his instructional peers. Hallett’s vote total also placed him at No. 40 in the country, up eight places from last year’s poll.
“You may want to recount the ballots – this can’t be correct,” the affable Hallett said upon learning of his ranking. “It is humbling to be regarded so highly amongst my peers and those to whom I view as mentors. This is truly a great honor!”
“We are proud of Joe, and so happy he is on our team,” said Vanderbilt Legends Club General Manager, David Latture. “He brings national and regional recognition to our club, and is just a great team member.”
Hallett’s award adds to a list of accomplishments that have cemented his place as one of the top golf instructors in the country. A PGA Class A member since 1993, he brings more than 24 years of experience on the lesson tee to VLC. Hallett won the Tennessee Section PGA Horton Smith Award in 2012, and the next year followed that up with the Tennessee Section PGA Teacher of the Year Award.
Extremely popular on the LPGA Tour, some of Hallett’s more notable students include Stacy Lewis, Lizette Salas, Karine Icher, Inbee Park and Cheyenne Woods. Hallett has been listed on GOLF Magazine’s Top 100 Instructors list since 2009-2010, and this year’s Golf Digest honor is his third straight Top 50 appearance.
“Joe has worked hard to earn his place in the Who’s Who of the golf industry” said OB Sports Senior Vice President of Operations, Mike Conner. “The Vanderbilt Legends Club membership is fortunate to have someone of Joe’s caliber onsite, and we look forward to many more of Joe’s accolades in the future!”
