Mark Mielke, PGA Life Member, has been named the 2017 South Florida PGA Senior Player of the Year. Mielke’s outstanding performance on the course this season landed him at the top of the Senior Player of the Year point standings, earning 1,282.75 total points. This will be his first Senior Player of the Year Award in the South Florida PGA.
Mielke finished in the top-10 in the South Florida Senior Open (T-5), the Florida Senior Open (T-5) and the SFPGA Senior Section Professional Championship (T-7), but his victory at the Naples Beach Club Senior Open in October helped cap off an impressive 2017 season. Mark also finished T-4 at the 29th Senior PGA Professional Championship held at Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
In addition to his individual accomplishments, Mielke was on the winning teams for both the annual Challenge Cup and Senior Challenge Cup matches, having finished with an impressive 6-1-0 record during the two events. As a result of winning this year’s Senior Player of the Year, Mark has earned a spot in the 2018 Event Qualifier at the Boca Raton Regional Hospital Championship or Chubb Classic, events on PGA TOUR Champions.
