Receives US patent No. 9,827,466

Buffalo, NY – OnCore Golf Technology, Inc., a leading innovator in golf ball technology, announced today that it its intellectual property portfolio continued to grow with the addition of US patent 9,827,466 – Modulus Transition Layers for Stiff Core Golf Balls. The use of highly optimized ball transition layers between core and cover will deliver improved combinations of initial velocity, spin rates, distance and feel for a wide range of club head speeds for a wide range of golf ball architectures and provides OnCore with a new set of patented design tools to continue its mission of delivering superior performing golf balls to a wide range of golf enthusiasts at all skill levels.

“This patent has tremendous application in creating golf balls with what we expect to be unparalleled performance across a wide range of swing speeds by customizing the energy transfer characteristics of the core and mantle layers,” according to Doug DuFaux, one of the named inventors and key member of OnCore Golf’s technical team. DuFaux was also the inventor of the hollow metal core golf ball – a product that led to the USGA rewriting the Rules of Golf with respect to allowable golf ball core construction in 2013.

“Over the last three years since the USGA’s announcement that rigid cores of 0.9 inch diameter and smaller would be considered allowable in conforming golf balls, we have been developing some breakthrough combinations of materials and designs that we feel will deliver exceptional properties,” said Keith Blakely, OnCore’s CEO. “Our recent announcement that OnCore would be developing a golf ball with embedded GPS and sensor technology – the GENiUS ball – was an outgrowth of these innovations and we look forward to maintaining the strong momentum that our focus on technology and disruptive approaches to the golf ball industry has delivered.”
