ORLANDO, Fla. (Dec. 5, 2017) – Acclaimed teaching professional John Webster, one of Golf Digest magazine’s “Best Teachers” in the state of Florida, is scheduled to appear as a guest instructor on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive on Thursday, Dec. 7.
The popular daily morning show airs from 7:30-10 a.m. ET.
Webster, director of Golf Instruction for the John Webster Golf Academy at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Fla., is one of the inaugural coaches in Golf Channel Academy (GCA), a dedicated network of teaching facilities. Select Golf Channel Academy coaches are being invited to appear on the network’s news and instruction shows, including The Golf Fix and School of Golf; Webster is making his second appearance on Morning Drive.
“It’s a tremendous honor to be on Morning Drive once again,” said Webster, the 2011 South Florida Section PGA Teacher of the Year and 2010 South Florida Chapter PGA Teacher of the Year. “I look forward to sharing some of my favorite playing lessons and game-improvement strategies with the viewers at home.”
Webster joined the legendary resort in 2005, and soon developed and implemented his “Total Package Golf” system, a multi-faceted method that includes world-class instruction, club fitting, fitness, course management and mental strategy. Prior to joining The Breakers, he had extensive tenures with Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland and Jim McLean Golf Schools. During his eight years teaching at the latter, he designed the Jim McLean Learning Center in Michigan and then became the Center’s Director of Instruction for two years, eventually overseeing all McLean Schools as vice president of operations for McLean Enterprises.
An accomplished player, Webster played his collegiate golf at Loyola University and also competed on the Australian/Asian Tour and a number of Florida mini-tours. His noteworthy students include PGA Tour champions, a U.S. Open champion, U.S. Amateur winner and NCAA champion.
