Streamlined education tracks, new industry certification programs, daily keynote sessions, hands-on instructional workshops and new incentive savings offered
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (Dec. 7, 2017) – New industry certification programs and more than 40 classroom sessions in three new streamlined education tracks have been added to the extensive education opportunities of the PGA Merchandise Show Education Conference in Orlando, Fla., Jan. 23-26, 2018. Additionally, PGA Professionals and industry leaders attending the annual global industry gathering also can take advantage of hands-on instructional workshops and daily keynote sessions to grow their careers and businesses while benefitting from new incentive savings programs introduced for the 2018 conference. Incentive savings are now available for PGA Assistants, multiple registrants from one facility and early conference registration through December 29. PGA Professionals are able to earn more than 40 MSR credits through participation in PGA Education, PGA Merchandise Show and PGA of America programs.
2018 PGA Merchandise Show Education Conference
Education Tracks – Executive Management, Teaching and Coaching, Golf Operations
More than 40 classroom sessions will be offered in three education tracks – Executive Management, Teaching and Coaching and Golf Operations, Jan. 24-26, at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC).
• The Executive Management track features proven business experts sharing insights to develop a strategy that drives facility revenues, improves business efficiencies, fosters team building and spotlights leadership best practices.
• The Teaching and Coaching track is designed to help PGA Professionals enhance their teaching business, categorize player programs, and develop marketing and communication tactics for a fully integrated teaching and coaching service.
• The Golf Operations track focuses on customer service, tournament management, tee reservation services and merchandising, among other operations in the facility.
Daily Keynote Sessions
Each morning of the PGA Merchandise Show, Jan. 24-26, will offer a conference keynote presentation.
• On Wednesday, Jan. 24, PGA Master Professional Michael Leemhuis will present “What Makes a Successful Private Club Chief Executive – The 12 Key Secrets to Success.”
• On Thursday, Jan. 25, PGA Master Professional Bill Hughes will share insights on “How to Build and Train Teams to Deliver on Critical Expectations of Your Members and Business Units.”
• The final PGA Show Day, Friday, Jan. 26, will begin with PGA Professional Fred Shoemaker presenting “New Dimensions in Coaching.”
Outdoor Instructional Workshops
Hands-on instructional workshops return to PGA Show Demo Day and the range-side classroom of Orange County National Golf Center (OCN) on Tuesday, Jan. 23, beginning at 10 a.m. and running through 4 p.m. The outdoor workshops focus on fitness and instruction in 2018.

PGA Professionals and industry leaders will have the opportunity to earn certification in four distinct programs within the 2018 PGA Show Education Conference.
• PGA of America CPP 2.0 Teaching and Coaching Jump Start, Jan. 23, Orange County Convention Center (OCCC), 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
• FlightScope Academy Professional Certification Program, Jan. 23, OCN, 11:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• Association of Golf Merchandisers Certified Retail Manager Review and Test, Jan. 24-25, OCCC, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
• Introduction to Adaptive Golf Certification Course, Jan. 25, OCCC, 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
New Incentive Savings and MSR Credits
PGA Show Education Conference registrants can save up to 36 percent by registering before Dec. 29. Additionally, a new facility conference registration discount is available offering a 50 percent discount to all subsequent same facility registrations after one regularly-priced registration. And, PGA Assistants continue to receive a 50 percent discount for any education conference registration.
Single-session, single-day and full-conference registration are now available. A new all-access pass, providing unlimited access to all PGA Show Demo Day Workshops and the full PGA Show Education Conference is available for the first time in 2018. PGA Professionals are able to earn more than 40 MSR credits through participation in PGA Education, PGA Merchandise Show and PGA of America programs. The current PGA of America MSR Credit cycle ends June 15, 2018. PGA Show MSR Credits details are available at PGAShow2018.com/MSR.

The 65th PGA Merchandise Show, held Jan. 23-26, 2018, in Orlando, will welcome some 1,000 top golf companies and brands and more than 40,000 industry professionals from around the world to the industry’s annual MAJOR of Golf Business. The PGA Show Demo Day, the world’s largest professional golf testing event, will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at the Orange County National Golf Center. During PGA Show days, Jan. 24-26, at the Orange County Convention Center, PGA Professionals, retailers and industry leaders will uncover the latest trends, source the newest golf merchandise, test the latest equipment, learn proven business best practices, network among peers and move forward the business of the game.
Attendance at the 65th PGA Merchandise Show is restricted to PGA Professionals and golf industry personnel. Attendance and registration guidelines are available at PGAShow2018.com/guidelines. There is no registration fee for qualified golf industry professionals through Dec.13. Beginning Dec.14, PGA Professionals and Allied Association members can continue to register at no charge, while other industry personnel will incur a $35 registration processing fee through Jan. 23, 2018; and a $175 fee at the PGA Show through Jan. 26, 2018.
