Popular golf app begins recruiting and searching for high school and college-age caddies to work
Haymarket, VA (December 18, 2017) -CaddieNow, the popular app bringing caddies back to the game, announced today it is expanding for the first time into Texas with Dallas/Fort Worth selected as the first market to get the service in the Lone Star State.
“We are eager and excited to bring our capabilities and service to Texas and start our expansion in the dynamic DFW area,” said Dave Cavossa, CaddieNow Founder and CEO. “With warm weather, growing population and large number of both public and private courses, Fort Worth and Dallas were excellent areas to introduce our caddie on-demand service to all Texans.”
CaddieNow is a shared-economy app, in the model of well-known ride-sharing platforms like Uber and Lyft. The user-friendly virtual service has gaining popularity in the industry nationwide because it’s easy for golfers to book caddies, for caddies to find work, and for courses to offer caddie services.
“We are excited about the growth and future of our brand,” Cavossa said. “We are pleased clubs and courses are reaching out and inviting us to be their partners in providing golfers a better experience. With our new and improved caddie management software, we have the latest technology right as we continue expanding to markets like Dallas/Fort Worth.”
The company started on the East Coast in Virginia and Maryland in 2015 and grew to California and the West Coast last year. Texas will be the seventh state, and first one in the Southwest, to get CaddieNow when it begins operations in a few weeks.
As part of its preparation to officially launch in DFW on March 1, 2018, CaddieNow is currently meeting with and signing agreements with partner courses – and looking to work with more – while also searching for potential caddies to staff its demand.
Shannon Kneisler, CaddieNow Marketing Manager and Regional Lead for DFW, said, “CaddieNow has proven to be a win-win for golfers and golf courses from California to Pennsylvania and Florida. As a native Texan, I am proud and pleased to have CaddieNow coming to Texas. Our app is an easy and efficient tool for golfers to use and for course to manage its resources. CaddieNow makes it easy for courses to implement a new service at no cost, provides an entry point to golf for young people, and makes caddies affordable and accessible to all golfers.”
She added, “In addition to looking for young caddies to join our workforce, CaddieNow is also considering potential charitable groups to support locally. CaddieNow donates a portion of each round fee to a youth golf nonprofit group in the communities where we operate.”
Since it was founded in 2015, CaddieNow’s stated mission has been to bring caddies back to the game of golf and make them accessible to golfers of all skill levels at lower costs at any course. The company’s goal is to engage the youngest generation in golf by providing them exposure to the game and entry to multiple courses as caddies. CaddieNow has made it easy for either youths or adults to become caddies. Candidates can sign up and register online at to http://www.CaddieNow.com. Each caddie becomes certified through a three-step process with video and on-course orientation.
Kneisler said, “Caddying has so many positives. It provides immediate income and opens networking opportunities that can help teens and college students with their future careers. The lifetime impact can be immeasurable.”
To use the service, golfers simply download the free CaddieNow app, which is available for iPhone and Android devices, and register. After golfers enter the course, date and time they plan to play, they receive a confirmation notice from their looper, who will meet them at the course. Fees range from $30 – $80, plus tip, depending on the golfer’s desired level of caddy experience. CaddieNow continues to offer four levels of caddie service: JR LOOPER, LOOPER, FORE-LOOPER and PRO-LOOPER. The company is currently operating on more than 100 courses.
