Personable Texan now 19th tour professional added to illustrious group
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (December 26, 2017) – Former Texas A&M standout Bronson Burgoon is now the latest Tour professional to join Team Secret Golf and he’s excited to be part of pro-fessional golf’s cutting-edge digital network. In 2018, Burgoon will debut his own Player Chan-nel on secretgolf.com, not only telling his career story but also giving golfers of all skill levels a unique perspective on how to improve.
The 30-year-old Burgoon, who led the Aggies to a national title in 2009, has been plagued by a variety of injuries off and on since turning professional in 2010. Now finally healthy, The Woodlands, Texas product regained fully- exempt status on this year’s PGA Tour after finishing 17th on the 2017 Web.com Tour priority list. He started off his 2018 PGA Tour campaign with a T17 at the Safeway Open in Napa, Cal.
“I’m very excited about being a part of Team Secret Golf. Growing up in Houston, you heard about Steve Elkington and all he’s accomplished in the game. Having advice given to you from someone like that is invaluable and it made me want to be a part of what he’s doing now,” Bur-goon said. ” If I wasn’t on the PGA Tour, I’d want to know what the guys who were on the PGA Tour were working on that makes them better. There’s no substitute for learning from the best that play the game.”
Elkington, a 10-time winner on the PGA Tour, including the 1995 PGA Championship and two Players Championships, is the co-founder of Secret Golf and is happy to have a player like Bur-goon in the fold. “Bronson has lots of horsepower in his swing. Being in Houston, I’ve watched him for a while now and even when he was injured, I thought he had tremendous upside. He will be a great addition to our staff and golf fans need to remember his name,” Elkington said.
In addition to Elkington, Burgoon now joins World Golf Hall of Fame member Jackie Burke, two-time LPGA Tour Player of the Year Stacy Lewis, and PGA Champion Jason Dufner on the team. Other members of Team Secret Golf include Tour professionals Jason Gore, Brian Har-man, Patton Kizzere, Colt Knost, Jason Kokrak, Ryan Palmer, Pat Perez, Martin Piller, Chris Stroud and Ethan Tracy. Team Secret Golf’s LPGA staff features, in addition to Lewis, Brittany Lang, Gaby Lopez and Gerina Piller. Former Tour player turned instructor Bradley Hughes of Australia rounds out the professional staff.
