ORLANDO, FL. – Kay McMahon, LPGA and PGA Member, President of eduKaytion golf and creator of Golf 8.5, announces the grand opening of her new headquarters at MetroWest Golf Club in Orlando, Florida. MetroWest Golf Club, now professionally managed by Hampton Golf, is a Robert Trent Jones Senior signature design that has received numerous awards and accolades for being “Orlando’s Best Golf Experience.” eduKaytion golf had previously been based at the Cranwell Resort and Golf Club in Lenox, Massachusetts for the past five years.
“As a PGA member, I’m thrilled to announce eduKaytion golf’s new headquarters at MetroWest Golf Club and our partnership with Hampton Golf and its founder and former President of the PGA of America, M.G. Orender,” said McMahon. “Over the past few months, I’ve been presenting Golf 8.5 workshops in the Orlando area at a variety of clubs and MetroWest is the ideal place for us to call home.”
McMahon, an active member of the LPGA Teaching and Club Professionals since 1979, has been teaching golf
for more than 30 years. She is the creator and innovator of Golf 8.5 – a simple approach to learning and improving your golf swing. Golf 8.5 identifies and teaches golfers 8.5 steps to a classic, consistent and repeatable golf swing. McMahon is a member of the LPGA Teaching Hall of Fame and is a past National President of the LPGA T&CP.
“We are delighted to have such a prestigious, world class, Hall of Fame instructor like Kay McMahon at MetroWest Golf Club,” said Jamie Selby, Regional Manager of Hampton Golf. “We look forward to a long and successful partnership and growing more golfers through Kay’s breakthrough instructional program Golf 8.5.”
Golf 8.5 is designed to create an environment of easy and simple learning, entertainment, enjoyment and excellent education. McMahon, who holds a degree in education, designed a teaching model for Golf 8.5 that occurs in chunks, position by position, in a slow, repetitive motion combined with a buddy system. The learning curve is fast-tracked and eduKaytion golf’s 98% success rate is the result.
Gary Van Sickle, former senior writer for Sports Illustrated, wrote in the “Morning Read” (Nov. 1, 2017), “Kay McMahon may be golf’s most important person … she has a Harvey Penick-like knack for keeping things simple and a nail-on-the-head mission statement: To simplify the way we teach the golf swing so we can grow golfers.”
McMahon was recently recognized as one of the LPGA’s Top 50 Best Teachers. To learn more about Golf 8.5 and upcoming workshops visit www.eduKaytiongolf.com or contact Kay at 518-669-1551.
