Historic club to upgrade existing program using caddie management platform, introduce new youth caddies
San Francisco, CA (January 15, 2018) – CaddieNow, the popular service bringing caddies back to the game, has signed a contract to provide its ‘Concierge’ on-demand caddie management platform at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, one of the oldest, most respected and prestigious golf courses in America. The CaddieNow platform will grow the existing adult caddie program while also introducing new, youth caddies on weekends and during summer break.
Established in 1860, The Olympic Club has two clubhouses for its 45 holes of golf on three courses, named the Lake, the Ocean and the Cliffs. The club has hosted multiple USGA and PGA events including the U.S. Open five different times. With a membership of more than 10,000, Olympic becomes the largest club in the nation now using CaddieNow.
CaddieNow is a shared-economy app, in the model of ride-sharing platforms like Uber and Lyft. The user-friendly virtual service is gaining popularity in the industry due to how easy it is for golfers to book caddies, caddies to find work, and for courses to offer caddie services.
For courses such as The Olympic Club with existing caddie programs, CaddieNow’s Concierge platform helps minimize costs and simplify operations by providing:
• Flexible Booking – golfers can book using the on-demand app or through existing phone/tee-time management systems.
• Connected Caddie Pool – instant communication to existing caddies via email, text and/or push notifications allowing caddies to accept the loop of their choice.
• Automated payment – golfers can pay caddies directly via credit card through the app or by charging their membership account.
• Caddie Management Dashboard – a real-time web interface provides the course with status of all caddie requests scheduled, as well as ratings and contact information.
In addition to streamlining caddie management, the CaddieNow Concierge service includes insurance and liability coverage and provides caddies with true independent contractor status.
“We are excited to partner with CaddieNow and offer our members this additional service option,” said Will Hutter, Director of Golf at The Olympic Club. “Being in Northern California, near Silicon Valley, it was a natural and logical move for us to embrace this latest technology in labor and golf. This app is an efficient tool for members to use and for the management of our resources. It’s just a win-win for everyone involved.”
“This is one of the premier places to play the game anywhere in America” said Dave Cavossa, CaddieNow Founder and CEO. “To bring on board one of the 2017 Golf Digest’s Top 50 courses in the country speaks to the quality and professionalism that CaddieNow offers. This agreement continues our tremendous trajectory of quality growth”.
Founded in 2015, CaddieNow’s mission has been to bring caddies back to the game and make them accessible to golfers of all skill levels at lower costs at any course. The company’s goal is to engage the youngest generation in golf by providing them exposure to the game and entry to multiple courses as caddies. At The Olympic Club, CaddieNow will give local youth, 14-18 years old, the opportunity to caddie and interact with business leaders at one of the nation’s top courses.
To use the service, golfers simply download the free CaddieNow app, which is available for iPhone and Android devices, and register. After golfers enter the course, date and time they plan to play, they receive a confirmation notice from their looper, who will meet them at the course. Fees range depending on the golfer’s desired level of caddy experience.
