SOUDERTON, PA – Leading turf products and technologies company SynaTek Solutions through its Ecotronics technology division has partnered with taskTracker to distribute their popular golf course labor management software. The Idaho-based software company launched in 2009, and today has an estimated 600 18-hole facilities using their platform which, essentially, replaces the hand-written job boards commonly used by superintendents. The SynaTek partnership aims to accelerate awareness and adoption of taskTracker.
“I was impressed with taskTracker the moment I saw it,” said Nate Clemmer, SynaTek’s CEO. “As a long-time designer and manufacturer of turf products and technologies for golf courses, SyanTek has a deep understanding of the superintendent’s challenges. And few things are more challenging than managing labor, which consumes up to 60 percent of a golf operation’s budget. In terms of greater efficiencies and effective use of labor and resources, there’s nothing else like taskTracker.”
Developed by Jaime Sharp, a PGA Professional, and Gerald Flaherty, a superintendent, taskTracker is a digital work board that effortlessly manages and tracks crews, jobs and budgets. What was once scribbled on white boards and sticky notes and thrown away daily is now easily captured in a few keystrokes and saved in a database for analysis, reporting, forecasting and more. The cloud-based platform is accessible by users anywhere, anytime from the office PC or any web-ready device.
“It’s a game-changer,” said Mark Semm, director of agronomy at Cordillera Ranch Golf Course in Boerne, Texas, which has been using taskTracker for a year. “Before taskTracker we had an Excel sheet we wrote out, later transferred that up onto a white board and a chalk board. By the end of the day, with all of the changes and updates, erasures and post-it notes added, you couldn’t even tell what was what on the boards. That’s all been replaced by taskTracker. As jobs get done, or changes happen, taskTracker updates automatically to all three TV screens we have in our facilities so everyone is in the know. For time saved on just writing stuff down, the software has paid for itself many times over.”
With that kind of impact, Sharp and Flaherty know they have an important product that should be working its wonders to benefit more golf operations. And that made partnering with SynaTek an easy decision to make.
“First, we knew we were looking for a partner who shares our vision to solve problems in the industry and make the super’s life easier,” Sharp said. “Nate and his team at SynaTek are right there with us in that philosophy. Plus, SynaTek is a forward-thinking company, one step ahead of the others and willing to try new things. And with their Partnership Points program, superintendents can buy the products they are buying anyway and get taskTracker with no out of pocket.”
Expanding on that, Flaherty said, “Others have rewards programs, but they give you things you don’t want. SynaTek gives you things you can actually use, and we think it’s important that all superintendents, no matter how small their operation, should have access to taskTracker and all of its benefits.”
