Greensboro, NC (February 2018) – The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour (PKBGT) has announced a partnership with Insurance Office of America to introduce a new developmental series for junior girl golfers in Central Florida.
Insurance Office of America, which will be the title sponsor for three LPGA Symetra Tour events in 2018, will help link generations of junior golfers by partnering with the PKB Girls Golf Tour, an LPGA Foundation-approved tour dedicated to creating on-course opportunities for junior girls through girls-only golf tournaments.
“We are very excited to expand our sponsorships into girls Junior golf with the PKB Girls Golf Tour to help develop the next generation of American LPGA golfers,” said IOA Chairman John Ritenour.
The new series will be an addition to the 35 developmental tournaments the PKBGT runs across the east coast. These events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. The PKBGT Series Progression allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.
In addition, IOA will grant a sponsor’s exemption into the Symetra Tour’s 2018 IOA Golf Classic to one PKBGT member. That event will be contested September 28-30, 2018 at Alaqua Country Club in Longwood, FL. More details on how members will be able to qualify will be released this spring.
“We are extremely excited to have IOA on board with the PKBGT,” said PKBGT Tour Director Mike Parker. “As a lead supporter of the women’s game through their three title partnerships with LPGA Symetra Tour events in 2018 and the PKBGT’s new Developmental Series in Central Florida, IOA is paving the pathway for developmental women’s golf. This partnership will not only bring new opportunity for girls in Central Florida, but also will link the generations of American girl golfers.”
The PKBGT Central Florida One-Day Series will debut Saturday, March 31st at Alaqua Country Club in Longwood, FL and end Saturday, June 9th at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, FL. The point leaders of the five-day series will be awarded and ranked through the PKBGT Storie Apparel Order of Merit.

About the PKBGT
Founded in 2007 by the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, as a local girl’s golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina, the tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focuses on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace. The 2018 season will feature more than 80 tournaments in eight states on the East Coast. With more than 800 members, the PKBGT is the largest girl’s only tour in the country.
