LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Coach Labs, manufacturers of the GEN i1, the World’s first intelligent putting training golf ball, introduced the GEN i2 full swing golf ball at the 2018 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Jan. 23-26.
The Gen i2 was successfully launched at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Jan. 9-12.
The GEN i2 full swing smart ball will be durable enough to last through the equivalent of total driver swings through four rounds of play and will provide all of the swing mechanics and feedback from the core-sized launch monitor.
Its predecessor the patent-pending GEN i1 golf ball’s core contains a nine-axis embedded sensor and on-board MCU that acts like a miniature launch monitor inside. The “smart” ball is calibrated specifically for putting measuring initial direction, speed, skip/skid, stroke tempo and distance. The data is then transmitted through an app to your mobile device via Bluetooth. In addition, The GEN i1 comes with a sensor for the handle of your putter that shows the “cause and effect” of your stroke and ball line.
“This year’s show took Coach Labs to a whole new level,” said CEO, Jason Koo. “Coach Labs continues to innovate and lead the way with smart ball technology. We had a number of major ball manufacturers visit our booth, as well as innovators in the golf space such as TopGolf who see the future of golf technology, interactive experiences and gaming all coming together.”
The GEN i2 full swing ball will be available to the public after the 2018 Masters. Sales of the Gen i1 ball surpassed $700,000 in 2017. Distribution has expanded to New Zealand, Canada, Australia and Japan.
Coach Labs is also the manufacturer of DuoTrac and Zen golf balls. DuoTrac is the three-sensor system that helps improve your swing, increases power and shakes bad habits by analyzing your body and club movement together. Zen golf balls are perfectly balanced for longer drives, reduced sidespin and precision putting. Using basic fluid dynamics to determine the true balance point and center of gravity, Zen balls are marked to the center of gravity just like the pros.
Gen i1 is available now at www.coachlabs.com beginning at $139, DuoTrac $149, Zen Tour IV $45 and Zen Bold III $35.
