ORLANDO, Fla. (March 5, 2018) – PGA teaching professional Allen Terrell, coach to the world’s No. 1-ranked golfer, Dustin Johnson, is scheduled to appear as a guest instructor on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive March 7.
The popular daily morning show airs from 7-9 a.m. ET on Wednesday.
Allen, the Director of Coaching and Managing Partner at the Dustin Johnson Golf School in Murrells Inlet, S.C., is one of the inaugural coaches in Golf Channel Academy (GCA), a dedicated network of teaching facilities. Select GCA coaches are being invited to appear on the network’s news and instruction shows, including Champions Learning Center and School of Golf; Terrell is making his first studio appearance on Morning Drive.
Terrell was Johnson’s college coach at Coastal Carolina University from 2004-07, and continues to work with Johnson today, as well as players on the PGA and European Tours. A one-time finalist for NCAA Coach of the Year while with the Chanticleers, Terrell has coached more than 300 collegiate golfers, including more than 20 NCAA All-Americans and 80 All-Conference recipients.
“It’s a tremendous honor to be asked to appear on Morning Drive,” said Terrell, who left the collegiate ranks in 2013 to operate the Dustin Johnson Golf School at TPC Myrtle Beach. “It’s been my lifelong passion to help golfers play their best, and I look forward to sharing some of my favorite tips and playing lessons with the viewers at home.”
One of Golf Digest’s “Best Teachers” in the state of South Carolina, Terrell is one of only a few teachers in the world to achieve TrackMan University Master status, and to be certified Level 3 by Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) as a Golf Instructor, Junior Coach and Golf Mechanic. He has been an Honorable Mention U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Kids Teacher, having coached more than 50 juniors to college scholarships.
