Championship to include elevated viewing experience, signature drinks and more
BENTON HARBOR, MICHIGAN (March 6, 2018) – This spring, the PGA of America is partnering with Michigan’s Makers Trail to create an elevated viewing experience at the 79th KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship and highlight some of the best sips and pours from the region. Known as the Makers Trail 19th Hole, golf fans are encouraged to take advantage of this special ticket option, which will showcase local wineries, breweries and spirits in the Southwest Michigan region. The 2018 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship will take place May 22-27 at Harbor Shores in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
“We are looking forward to this new partnership, which will highlight the wide variety of craft breweries and master wine makers that this area has become known for in recent years,” said Championship Director Ryan Ogle. “We value the support that we receive from the local community and our team is proud to recognize many of the local businesses in the area through this new partnership. We hope that craft beer enthusiasts, wine aficionados, and cocktail connoisseurs will relish this new opportunity and exciting way to view our Championship.”
Located between the 16th green and 17th tee, the Makers Trail 19th Hole will feature Watermark Brewing Co., the recipient of the 2018 Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year; Silver Harbor Brewing Company, which claimed a Gold Medal in the 2017 U.S. Open Beer Championships; North Pier Brewery Co.; The Livery, Domain Berrien Cellars; Hickory Creek Winery; Lemon Creek Winery; Round Barn and Journeyman Distillery.
“The Livery has become known as a gathering place for residents and guests of Southwest Michigan,” said manager Kelly Vega. “Working with the PGA of America to launch the inaugural Makers Trail 19th Hole experience is a natural fit for our team. We’re looking forward to showcasing our history and brewing traditions at the Championship and, once again, welcoming golf enthusiasts and travelers to our home in Benton Harbor.”
Individuals who are interested in purchasing a ticket to the Makers Trail 19th Hole will receive the following:
– Four $5 vouchers for use towards the purchase of snacks and beverages in the Makers Trail 19th Hole
– Access to the grounds of Harbor Shores
– Access to the exclusive Makers Trail Pavilion
Ticket are limited to 300 per day and prices vary from $50-$70 per day per person. Attendees also have the option to purchase a limited number of the Makers Trail 19th Hole weekly ticket package, which is $275 per person for all six days of the Championship.
