PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (March 12, 2018) – For the third consecutive year, PGA Golf Club – the PGA of America’s premier 54-hole facility – has received the Platinum Award from the Association of Golf Merchandisers (AGM).
The award spotlights clubs and facilities with the most creative and innovative retail accomplishments, and successful initiatives that enhance customer relationships and experiences. To be eligible, courses were invited to submit golf shop nominations. Entries were judged by an impartial panel on various categories, including creative ideas, revenue-generating initiatives, promotions and visual displays.
PGA Golf Club officials were presented the 2018 Platinum Award at the AGM Annual Retail Conference in Orlando.
“Receiving this award from the AGM for three straight years is quite an honor,” says Jimmy Terry, PGA Golf Club General Manager. “The golf shop is a memorable space that resonates with our members and guests, as we provide them with the top brands and styles in merchandise as an essential element in their complete club experience.”
Owned and operated by the PGA of America, PGA Golf Club’s golf shop is stocked with apparel for men, women and juniors from major manufacturers. The golf shop also supplies accessories, gift items and resort wear emblazoned with the PGA Golf Club logo, with innovative display enhancers and lighting to ensure merchandise is visually appealing.
“We strive to create vibrant and attractive presentations throughout the golf shop that spotlight the latest in fashion trends,” says Ashly Olson, PGA Golf Club Merchandising Manager. “Our main goal is to make the guest experience refreshing and pleasing.”
The AGM is an international, professional association of golf-related merchandisers and vendors. Members include golf professionals, buyers, merchandisers, students, club managers, owners and suppliers to the golf industry. Headquartered in Arizona, the AGM is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation founded in 1989, and governed by a 19-member volunteer Board of Directors.
In addition to PGA Golf Club, other notable clubs and facilities bestowed the 2018 AGM Platinum Award include: Whistling Straits Golf Club (2020 Ryder Cup host site), Muirfield Village, Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, Torrey Pines and Pinehurst Resort.
Known as the “Ultimate Golf Resort Destination,” PGA Golf Club is home to 54 holes of Championship golf. The entertaining layouts were designed by renowned architects Tom Fazio and Pete Dye.
