ORLANDO, Fla. (March 20, 2018) – Accomplished Austin-area coach Brech Spradley, one of Golf Digest magazine’s “Best Teachers” in the state of Texas, is scheduled to appear as a guest instructor on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive on Wednesday, March 21 and Saturday, March 24.
The popular daily morning show will air from 7-11 a.m. ET on Wednesday and from 7-9 a.m. on Saturday.
Spradley, PGA Director of Instruction at Barton Creek Golf Academy in Austin, Texas – host city for this week’s WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play event on the PGA Tour – is one of the inaugural coaches in Golf Channel Academy (GCA), a dedicated network of teaching facilities. Select Golf Channel Academy coaches are being invited to appear on the network’s news and instruction shows, including School of Golf and PGA Tour Champions Learning Center; Spradley is making his third appearance on Morning Drive.
“It’s always an honor to be invited back on Morning Drive,” said Spradley, who’s appeared on the “Best Teachers” list every year since 2013. “It’s also a privilege to be representing the city of Austin during WGC-Match Play week. I look forward to providing some insight on the tournament, as well as sharing some of my favorite tips and lessons with the viewers at home.”
The former lead instructor for the Chuck Cook Golf Academy, Spradley has received several accolades during his 20-plus year coaching career. Most recently, he was named a 2017 Future Champions Golf (FCG) Top 25 Elite Junior Golf Coach; and in 2015 was recognized as the Southern Texas PGA Section (STPGA) Harvey Penick Teacher of the Year for his overall excellence in golf instruction and performance as a golf professional. Previous winners of the prestigious award – named after the legendary coach and World Golf Hall of Famer – include Cook, Charlie Epps, Dick Harmon, Jim Hardy and Kevin Kirk.
Known for his work with elite juniors and collegiate players, Spradley’s students have earned scholarships at such top-flight programs as Wake Forest, Texas, Arizona, Arkansas and Texas Tech. His students have been ranked as high as No. 1 and 2 in the state of Texas, as well as Top 10 in the country in the AJGA Polo Rankings.
