Congratulations to Inbee Park on her win at the LPGA’s Bank of Hope Founders Cup this past weekend.
Inbee is the reigning Olympic golf Gold Medalist, was torch bearer for South Korea in the Winter Olympics, and is generally recognized as the best putter in professional golf, male or female. She won this event with a toe hang putter, as opposed to the face balanced putter she normally uses. This should lay to rest the belief that certain kinds of putters only work for certain kinds of putting strokes. A pure putting stroke like Inbee’s will work with almost any kind of putter.
Congratulations also to Marina Alex (T2) and Ally McDonald (T7), their best finishes ever on the LPGA Tour, and to Ariya Jutanugarn for her T2 finish.
Finally, congratulations to the winner of the Arnold Palmer Invitational. After missing the cut at Valspar, he sought help from one of the game’s best putters, and changed from a block type stroke to a natural, putterhead release stroke. In less than a week he went on to win the API and went from a 2018 Strokes Gained Putting ranking of around 140 to #1 for the tournament.
Congratulations also to Bryson DeChambeau on his second place finish in the Arnold Palmer Invitational. At least four of the top six finishers in this event are past or present Putting Arc users.
