Tournament host commits to play at TPC Potomac June 25-July 1; Tickets are on sale now at NationalGolfTournament.com
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Tiger Woods announced today that he will play in the 2018 National to be held June 25-July 1 at TPC Potomac. Tickets for the tournament are on-sale now at NationalGolfTournament.com and start at $15.
“I am really looking forward to being back in the D.C. area this summer playing in The National,” Woods said. “As a two-time champion of this event benefiting my foundation, The National has always been a special event for me.”
In December, Woods returned to competitive golf at the Hero World Challenge and since then has competed in five events during the PGA TOUR’s 2017-18 season. As a two-time champion of The National (2009 and 2012), Woods last competed in the tournament in 2015.
This summer, The National will return to TPC Potomac for the second time in tournament history. Last year, Kyle Stanley defeated Charles Howell III in a one-hole playoff at TPC Potomac. The win was Stanley’s second career PGA TOUR victory.
Tickets for the 2018 National are now on sale. Starting at just $15, all ticket options are available at NationalGolfTournament.com. New in 2018, all competition round grounds tickets are valid any one day, providing an added level of flexibility for fans. Upgraded ticket options include the Independence Pavilion on 16 green, Trophy Club and cabanas on 17 tee and Capital Club, an all-inclusive option on 18 green.
With the support of Lockheed Martin, The National is proudly offering complimentary tickets to members of the military. More than 30,000 tickets to the tournament are distributed annually to active, retired and reserved members of the United States Armed Forces. Additionally, all veterans are eligible to receive a 50 percent discount on grounds tickets.
Discounted tickets are available for purchase to college and high school students with a valid student ID. Youth tickets for kids 15 and under are complimentary when accompanied by a ticketed adult and must be redeemed at the box office.
The National invites 120 of the top players on the PGA TOUR to compete for their share of a $7.1 million purse. Operated by TGR Live, The National raises funds and awareness for TGR Foundation while paying tribute to our armed forces. Past champions of The National include tournament host Tiger Woods, defending champion Kyle Stanley, K.J. Choi, Bill Haas, Billy Hurley III, Anthony Kim, Troy Merritt, Justin Rose and Nick Watney.
