STAFFORD, VA-Matt Miskelly was awarded Middle Atlantic Professional Golfers’ Association (MAPGA) 2018 Sales Representative of the Year during the 32nd Annual Hall of Fame banquet at Washington Golf & Country Club in Arlington, Virginia.
The award bestows special recognition for his outstanding service and dedication to the members and apprentices of the MAPGA, as well as support of the Section through sponsorships and other programs. This is Miskelly’s second time being recognized by the Middle Atlantic PGA as Salesperson of the Year.
Miskelly represents Cutter & Buck, Imperial, Sterling Cut Glass, Maui Jim, Dynamic Brands, AM&E, Mizzen+Main and Tica. He began working for Cutter & Buck as a sales representative in December of 1997 and was named their Salesman of the Year in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
While he claims he’ll never be a scratch golfer, Miskelly loves the game as well as the industry and the PGA members, apprentices and merchandisers that he’s fortunate to work with.
Miskelly received his first sales representative job through his work experience in the golf shop at both Winchester Country Club in Winchester, Virginia and Missoula Country Club in Missoula, Montana.
He learned a lot from both golf shops, under the direction of Head PGA Professionals Billy Phillips and Glenn Kelley of Winchester and under Head PGA Professional Charles “Skip” Koprivica of Missoula. Most of all he learned how to treat people with positivity and respect.
His goal is to provide service, attention to detail, and follow-through while under-promising and over-delivering by developing long-term friendships and business partnerships. Miskelly cares about his customers and tries to make it easy for them to work with him by aligning himself with quality companies and products in which he believes.
Miskelly showed gratitude to his wife of 17 years, Melissa Miskelly, his daughter, Emma Miskelly and son, Cooper Miskelly for their continued love and support.
