Runner up & third also used Nippon Shaft

CARLSBAD, Calif. (April 2, 2018) – The winner of the marathon two-day eight-hole playoff that decided the ANA Inspiration used steel Nippon Shaft products in her irons and wedges.

So did the runner-ups.

The 31-year-old Swedish champion used N.S.PRO 850GH steel shafts in her irons and wedges to shoot 15-under par and prevail on the eighth hole of the sudden-death player to earn her first LPGA tournament victory and her first major championship.

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old runner up used the N.S.PRO 950GH steel shafts in her irons and wedges. The seven-time major champion from South Korea won the LPGA Founders Cup last month.

The third playoff contender also uses N.S. PRO 750GH steel shafts in her irons and wedges.

“Nippon Shaft would like to congratulate the champion of the ANA Inspiration on her first LPGA Tour victory and her first major,” said Hiro Fukuda, sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft. “We also want to congratulate the runner up and the third finisher on their outstanding performances.”

Three players shot 15-under par 273 in regulation at the Dinah Shore course at Mission Hills in Rancho Mirage, California. One was eliminated Sunday evening on the third hole. The match resumed at 8 a.m. Monday.

Nippon Shaft products are available globally either as stock or custom shafts in many of the world’s top iron brands. Details of these can be found at www.nipponshaft.com

Based in Yokohama, Japan, Nippon Shaft is the No. 1-selling steel shaft in Asia. Nippon Shaft is a privately-held subsidiary of NHK Spring Co. LTD, a Japanese automobile parts manufacturer. Nippon Shaft’s North American headquarters is in Carlsbad.
