BONITA, CA (May 16, 2018) – Riding the momentum of several positive media review of its High Heat family of metalwoods, Knuth Golf will be an Exhibitor at the 28th Annual ING Spring Conference.
This annual gathering of media and golf industry executives is set for May 20-24 at the IP Casino Resort Spa in Biloxi, MS. This is the sixth straight year that Knuth Golf has exhibited at the ING Spring Conference.
The company enters the conference riding a wave of positive media reviews of its award-winning line of drivers and metalwoods, designed by former USGA Senior Director Dean Knuth, inventor of the USGA’s Course Rating and Slope Systems.
The latest review comes from golf writer Kathy Bissell in the Ponte Vedra Recorder, calling Knuth Golf’s newest product, High heat 257+, true breakthrough technology.
The new High Heat 257+ is the only brand that takes advantage of a USGA rules change two years ago. The 2016 CT rule (Characteristic Time-trampoline effect) regulates the amount of time that a ball stays on the face of the club in microseconds, which controls how “hot” a clubface can be. With this change the USGA permitted a golf face to be much hotter with a CT above 257 and up to 275, but only in the large toe and heel areas.
Said Bissell in the article, “When Knuth saw this regulation change, he went, “Aha!” He understood what it meant and what benefit it could provide for golfers. Then he went to work on a titanium clubface that has three separate bouncy parts instead of one. It’s like three trampolines, one in the center area, and an even bouncier part for the toe and heel. But it’s one seamless face. It’s a breakthrough in engineering and materials know-how.
“The result? More measurable bounce off the entire clubface for the driver, the fairway wood and the hybrid, particularly the heel and toe hits.”
High Heat is the only brand in the market that offers this 3-Trampoline Technology, the significance of which cannot be overstated. Amateurs on average hit 50 percent of their shots in the toe and heel areas, resulting in a loss of 20 or more yards because of the very low CT. But with higher CT in the toe and heel areas of the High Heat 257+ driver and metalwoods, amateurs obtain the same distance as they do when they hit the center of the face.
Knuth’s ability to bring this technology to fruition will certainly solidify Knuth’s reputation as one of the golf industry’s brightest minds.
