Spectacular Event Unites Community to Support Families Battling Childhood Cancer
South Florida – In a remarkable show of resilience and compassion, national radio powerhouse Doc Reno announces the 3rd Annual South Florida Broadcasters & Celebrity Golf Tournament, slated for Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the prestigious Plantation Preserve Golf Course & Club. This extraordinary event, featuring South Florida Broadcasters, Celebrities, and Athletes aims to benefit the My Family Matters Foundation, a 501(c)(3), Non-Profit Organization dedicated to providing financial assistance for families with children fighting cancer.
Doc Reno, who faced a life-altering battle with cancer in 2018, emerged with an unwavering commitment to making a difference. Despite enduring 35 rounds of radiation and six rounds of rigorous chemotherapy, Doc Reno remained dedicated to his daily radio shows, gaining firsthand insight into the struggles faced by families dealing with childhood cancer. Motivated by the financial burdens and emotional toll experienced by these families, Doc Reno founded the My Family Matters Foundation. “I wanted to create my foundation because nobody is going to be more passionate about it than I am,” he stated. The Foundation’s mission is to alleviate the financial strain on families dealing with pediatric cancer, covering expenses beyond medical bills, such as housing, transportation, groceries, and other expenses.
The Golf Tournament proceeds will be directed towards My Family Matters Foundation, further strengthening its successful partnership with Joe DiMaggio’s Children’s Hospital Foundation. This collaboration ensures that the funds raised will have a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of families facing the challenges of childhood cancer.
