Silent Auction Items Including Tickets & Experiences at Professional Sporting Events Available through Mobile Bidding at www.claragolf.org
Belleville, N.J. May 7, 2019 — Former New York Giant and 2-time Super Bowl Champion, David Diehl, a current NFL analyst, will serve as host of the 5th Annual Clara Maass Medical Center Golf Invitational, to be held at Montclair Golf Club in West Orange, NJ on Monday, May13th.
The 2019 event will kick-off with a brunch at 10:30am, followed by a shotgun start at 12:30pm and conclude with a cocktail/awards reception at 6:00pm. A line-up of celebrities, current NFL players and several of Diehl’s former NY Giants teammates will participate this year, in an effort to surpass 2018’s event, where more than $300,000 was raised to support patient services at RWJBarnabas Health’s Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville.
Individuals unable to attend the event will have an opportunity to support the charitable component as the silent auction will once again feature mobile bidding. Beginning today, an exciting collection of items will be up for grabs at www.claragolf.org, highlighted by tickets to professional sporting events; suite access to sporting events; NY Giants training camp experiences; exotic travel experiences, sports memorabilia and much more.
“It’s inspiring to see how passionate David is about this event every year, as he continues to be such a strong advocate for programs and many important patient initiatives at Clara Maass Medical Center,” said Mary Ellen Clyne, PhD, President and Chief Executive Officer, Clara Maass Medical Center. “This is special day on the calendar, as the money raised is truly making a difference, while giving us an opportunity to make a more meaningful impact in support of our patients.”
An Essex County resident, Diehl has been a strong supporter of Clara Maass Medical Center since his playing days and currently serves as an ambassador for RWJBarnabas Health and The Matthew J. Morahan (MJM) III Health Assessment Center for Athletes. He speaks regularly to diverse audiences on topics such as the importance of concussion education and cardiac screenings for young athletes, as well as leadership and healthy tips to optimize performance.
Diehl, who spent his entire 11-year NFL career with the New York Giants, won two Super Bowl Championships (2008 and 2012) and was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2009. In 2012, David was also the recipient of the prestigious Wellington Mara NFL Man of the Year Award.
A limited number of golf playing spots are available for individual golfers or foursomes interested in participating in the event. Additionally, exclusive sponsorship and playing opportunities are available, which include golfing with a celebrity or attending the cocktail/awards reception, among others.
