Dallas, TX – The Women’s All Pro Tour, the official qualifying tour for the LPGA’s Epson Tour, will be heading to Trophy, Texas for the fifth time for the Kathy Whitworth Championship. The 3 day tournament will feature over 78 of the best LPGA hopefuls competing at the beautiful Trophy Club Country Club.
“We were blessed to have Kathy with us to present our first four champions with their trophies. We will miss her smile and wit this year. But our goal is to continue the tradition and honor Kathy at this year’s championship,” says Gary DeSerrano, WAPT president.
Our new venue, Trophy Club, will be a terrific host for this year’s tournament. The professionals will get a treat seeing Kathy’s trophy case at the club and have fun playing the course in her name. ”
“Kathy Whitworth was the greatest winner in all of golf” said tournament director Cathy Harbin, “still, she had a humble beginning and that has always motivated her to help others. Kathy loved the WAPT and the opportunity it provided young women to follow their dreams”
The Kathy Whitworth Championship will be the thirteenth event of the 2023 WAPT season. The field will consist of 78 professionals from all over the world. The tournament purse is expected to be $55,000 with the winner taking home $10,000.
