5th Golf Innovation Symposium To Be Live Streamed

USGA Golf Innovation Symposium to Be Streamed Live in English and Japanese

Golfers and course operators worldwide can watch the event, conducted in partnership with Cisco, to learn about research and insights fostering facility sustainability

LIBERTY CORNER, N.J.  – The USGA, in partnership with its official technology partner, Cisco, will give everyone in the golf industry a front-row seat to its 5th Golf Innovation Symposium. Taking place March 12-13 in Tokyo, the symposium will be broadcast via exclusive livestreams delivered in both English and Japanese.

The live broadcasts at usga.org/symposium will showcase experts and speakers from 10 countries who will discuss topics such as pace of play, turf reduction and golf’s place in the urban landscape.

Notable sessions include:
USGA CEO Mike Davis presenting a vision for how the game can come together to tackle the challenges facing golf facilities around the world. (March 12, 1:10 p.m. JST)

How the USGA GPS Service is providing data that empower facility managers to improve golf course efficiency and golfer experience, specifically at Kasumigaseki Country Club (host of the 2020 Olympic golf competition) and Florida’s Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne. (March 12, 4:45 p.m.)

Champion golfer and coach Shigeki Maruyama and Olympic gold medalist Koji Murofushi coming together for a fireside chat, moderated by golf television commentator Sho Tobari, to explore the intersection of golf and the Olympics next year in Tokyo. (March 12, 8 p.m.)

Emcee Erik Anders Lang moderating a discussion about the future of golf facilities with a panel of international visionaries, including Matt Pringle, the senior director of the USGA’s Research, Science and Innovation team. (March 13, 1 p.m.)
Following the symposium, all the sessions will be made available on demand to support the USGA’s commitment to deliver leading research, education and tools to the game.
