Long-Time Head Professional Drew Pohalski promoted to Director of Golf
GLEN COVE, NY – Nassau Country Club, a member-owned, private country club on the North Shore of Long Island announces the hiring of PGA Professional Aaron Mueller. A PGA Class “A” member, Mueller is no stranger to Nassau CC. He served as the First Assistant Golf Professional for four years, before moving to Indian Hills CC in Northport, New York, where he worked as Head Golf Professional for three years.
“The board of directors, members, and staff are thrilled to have Aaron back with Nassau CC,” said Club President Eric Carlstrom. “He is extremely qualified, and his passion for golf is undeniable.” “We are also proud to announce that our long-term head professional Drew Pohalski has been promoted to director of golf.”
In his new job, Mueller reports to Pohalski and will be responsible for assisting in daily operations of golf programs, which includes managing all junior golf programs, conducting golf lessons and clinics, and on-course interaction with members. In addition, Mueller will oversee all club tournaments and software.
Last fall, the club completed an extensive golf course renovation by Fazio Design under the guidance of Tom Marzolf, Senior Design Associate, and Bryan Bowers, Design Associate. The scope of work included removal of all old bunkers (from 114 bunkers to 48), placing bunkers in the proper landing zones based on modern distances, tree removal for better fairway alignment, fairway reductions and extensions, the addition of both forward and back tees and reshaping green surrounds.
For more than 100 years, Nassau CC has provided excellence in golf and promoted fellowship among its members. While Nassau’s premier golf experience continues to draw many new members, outstanding racquets, aquatics, and youth programs make Nassau an ideal club for the entire family.
