OKATIE, South Carolina  – The Academy of Golf Art (AcademyofGolfArt.org), whose mission is to enhance appreciation for golf art, announces John Haley as a new member artist.

“Fine golf art is appreciated all over the world,” said Linda Hartough, a founding trustee of the Academy and a renowned golf-landscape artist. “John Haley, who lives in New Zealand, epitomizes the global reach of the genre, and we welcome him to the Academy.”

Some samples of Haley’s work can be viewed on the Academy website, www.AcademyofGolfArt.org.

“Golf has played a huge part in my life, both playing the game and as a golf course superintendent in New Zealand,” Haley said. “I feel honored to become a member of the Academy of Golf Art because in a special way I can share the beauty and challenges of New Zealand golf courses with others.”

Artists interested in joining the Academy of Golf Art or learning more about it are invited to contact Sally J. Sportsman.

In 2018, the Academy exhibited select works of member artists in a special exhibition, The Academy of Golf Art: Artists of the Game, at the Morris Museum of Art, in Augusta, Georgia. The successful three-month exhibition spanned the week of the Masters Tournament. Works displayed included sculpture; paintings in oil, pastel, watercolor and casein; and photography.
