Becomes the Official Golf Destination Partner and Title Sponsor of the Access Golf Player of the Year Award
Dallas, TX – The All Pro Tour has graduated several PGA Tour-ready golfers over the past thirty years. None more so than 2023’s graduating class of players, Blaine Hale (Dallas, TX) and Hayden Springer (Trophy Club, TX). Starting in 2024, the best player each season will earn Access Golf Player of the Year honors and a $10,000 bonus.
“The All Pro Tour has a strong track record of attracting the next stars of the Korn Ferry and PGA Tours”, said APT President Gary DeSerrano. In 2022, we saw a strong class of players move onto the Korn Ferry Tour and perform well. Chandler Phillips was the best of the bunch and showed it with his win in 2023 on the Korn Ferry Tour. We are thrilled to have Access Golf join us to reward and recognize our top players.”
In addition to Access Golf honoring the top player in 2024, they will also provide a bonus program for the next two finishers to effectively help the top three players defer some of the costs of PGA Tour School. The Access Golf Player of the Year will earn $10,000, and players finishing second and third place will earn $3,000 and $2,000, respectively. This new program is exclusive for APT members.
All finishes will be based on the new 2024 Access Golf points system, where points will be allocated to each APT member by order of finish. A win is worth 500 points; second place will be 320 and 230 for third. All members making the cut at an event will earn points.
“Access Golf is delighted to help support the next generation of PGA Tour-bound players by sponsoring the Player of the Year Award,” said Ken Hollingworth, founder of Access Golf. “As a golf travel destination company, we feel it’s important to give back and help those golfers chase their dreams of playing the PGA Tour.”
The Access Golf Player of the Year program starts at the season-opening Coca-Cola Dr. Pepper Open, March 20-23 in Alexandria, LA.
