ORLANDO, Fla. (May 1, 2018) – Accomplished LPGA instructor Kelley Brooke, one of the most influential coaches in the New York Metropolitan area, is scheduled to appear as a guest instructor on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive on Wednesday, May 2.
The popular daily morning show airs from 7-9 a.m. ET.
Brooke, Owner and Director of Instruction for the Golf Channel Academy with Kelley Brooke, is one of the inaugural coaches in Golf Channel Academy (GCA), a dedicated network of teaching facilities. Select GCA coaches are being invited to appear on the network’s news and instruction shows, including PGA Tour Champions Learning Center and School of Golf; Brooke is making her third appearance.
“It’s a tremendous honor to be on Morning Drive once again,” said Brooke, who has three locations in the New York metropolitan area-Bethpage Golf Course (Farmingdale); Staten Island Golf Practice Center (Staten Island); and Marine Park Golf Course (Brooklyn). “I look forward to sharing some of my favorite tips and playing lessons, and helping the viewers of Morning Drive with their golf games.”
Brooke’s newest location is at the renowned Bethpage Black Golf Course on Long Island, the first publicly owned and operated course to host a U.S. Open Championship (2002 and 2009). Bethpage Black will also be the host site for the 2019 PGA Championship and 2024 Ryder Cup Matches, as well as the 2021 and 2027 The Barclays, part of the PGA Tour’s FedExCup Playoffs.
A protégé of renowned coach Butch Harmon, as well as Craig Bunker (John Jacobs’ Golf Schools), Brooke began teaching at the Staten Island Golf Practice Center in 1993, and since has conducted more than 40,ooo lessons. During this time, she’s done much to change the face of New York City golf, having created the not-for-profit NYC Junior Golf Club Inc. and the Police Athletic League Golf Program, as well as the “Fit for Life” program for children with disabilities, which provides thousands of children with disabilities throughout the five boroughs an opportunity to play the game.
An accomplished player, Brooke won an individual state championship in high school in Iowa, and earned All-Big Ten honors at the University of Iowa. She has also hosted several television shows on cable, most recently Golfing NYC Style and The 19th Hole.
