NEW BEDFORD, Mass. – At the January PGA Show, ahead debuted its new AeroSphere tech fabrication in the Stratus (structured) and Frio (unstructured) styles, adding to its already-robust golf and resort headwear collection. This new fabrication, in addition to offering cooling and moisture wicking properties, incorporates spandex and features ahead’s new “ultimate fit”. On the early success of this launch ahead is adding several new AeroSphere styles and fits to headline its Spring-Summer 2024 collection.
As the Stratus and Frio ultimate-fit caps quickly emerged as top sellers, the 2024 AeroSphere collection will grow in versatility with the introduction of the extreme fit Kall, extra-large fit Kald, and rope style Alto. The Kall and Kald caps, both unstructured and adjustable, arrive in four colors. The rope-style Alto is a five-panel, performance cap with a two-tone snap closure will be offered in six color combinations, including navy/red and slate/blue.
The AeroSphere line has also been expanded to include a low-rise visor (Cirrus), a sun hat (Fairway), and a performance cap for women (Cumulus). The soft structured Cumulus is being introduced in eight on trend women’s colors, including mint, soft orange, and both hot and soft pink. All AeroSphere caps feature a SPF 30+ sun protection rating.
“The AeroSphere fabrication has already become a best-selling mainstay of our headwear collection,” said Scott Stone, National Sales Manager, Golf, ahead. “We are thrilled with the customer requests for additional styles and are excited to answer that demand with this expanded offering.”
Prints also continue to be a big seller for ahead and the Spring-Summer ’24 line speaks to that trend. The classic-fit Trade Wind features a Hawaiian/tropical print front and a stretch mesh back. A large floral print highlights the Pua Nui, which comes in three colors, including an attention-grabbing Blue/Magenta. The Mirage incorporates a fashion camo with a mesh back.
The bright, colorful Broadway cap is aptly named, with neon prints of golf themes — from balls to clubs to flagsticks on the green — this classic fit, structured cap screams fun. Made from gingham cotton, the women’s Checkmate checks all the boxes when it comes to comfort, fit, and looks. It will be available in four colors: Pewter, Chambray, Khaki, and Pink.
Textures are trending, too, and ahead is responding with unique fabrications that will improve wearability. The Airflowfeatures air-thru laser front panels; the Pregame boasts a synthetic burlap front and a mesh back; and the mid-fit Cameron showcases a cotton-linen fabric. The Tee Time for women is made with textured cotton and introduced in five soft colors, including blush, mint, and daisy.
Mesh backs are still going strong and ahead is reinventing the look with the debut of a comfort stretch mesh, featured in several styles. The Camo Flex is a structured cap with a modern camo look available in two wearable color combinations — grey camo/white mesh and blue camo/white mesh.
The five-panel Wave Rider cap takes a traditional cotton twill front / mesh back cap to the next level with the addition of stretch mesh and comes in eight color combinations, incorporating both basic two tone options and more trendy three tone looks. The Palm Island, features a Hawaiian print and also incorporates ahead’s signature stretch mesh.
In addition to the Alto in the AeroSphere collection, ahead is answering rope hat enthusiasts with two other options: the Westport, a flat-brim, and the vintage Throwback, which is unveiled in four color combinations, including honey mustard/blue rope and olive/cream rope.
For cooler spring mornings, ahead has added some attractive knits for both men and women, including the:
- Trinity, a tri-color, acrylic flat knit with both cuff and pom for men. It arrives in eight versatile color combinations.
- Kierra, a cable knit in sustainable yarns for women. With cuff and fine yarn pom, it comes in three colors, including winter white.
- Speckle Pom & Scarf, a faux-fur pom cable knit with matching scarf for women.
ahead will showcase its ’24 Spring-Summer headwear and apparel at the 2023 PGA Buying & Education Summit, July 31-Aug. 2, in Frisco, Texas.
